    ROUTE
The planned itinerary first included a visit to Upper Normandy and then Brittany, departing from Giverny to follow Étretat and gradually descending.
Since the date of August 21, the day we were supposed to be in Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer for the "Omaha Beach Outdoor", was binding, I had to completely overturn the route: first Brittany and then Normandy.
This choice brought a considerable advantage in terms of traffic and time, but caused the disadvantage in terms of organization of the stops, leading us to be in a specific place screened for the night stop when not was the time of the overnight stop. 😐😬
  • 2.
    REST AREA
For the rest areas we relied on notes and previous itineraries as well as our previous experience in Brittany and Normandy.
Often, however, also due to the change of itinerary, we have opted for other night rest solutions.
We did not find some marked areas or they were dilapidated.
We referred to Park4Night to find the right place, much preferring "free" parking.

    DEPOPULATION
By hooking up to point 2. PARKING AREAS, we found that in the interior of France, far from the more touristic circuits, the parking areas were semi-abandoned, not neglected but only little frequented. Perhaps the new high-speed roads have precluded the passage from those characteristic villages equipped with Aire de Camping-Car.
  • 4.
    HOSPITALITY
On the other hand, we have noticed a strong reception in Normandy (landing beaches) and in Brittany, with many equipped areas and / or free and / or paid parking spaces used for the overnight stop of campers. Given the large turnout of campers, many municipalities have organized themselves to guarantee a visit to those who, however, bring tourism and healers.
    NOT applies to Étretat! 🤬🤬

    WATER
You want it because of the drought of this summer 2022 as the hottest of all time (not in Italy, which always remains that of 2003 😅), or because of the neglect of some, or because of the lack of tokens, the only difficulty experienced during the trip was the water supply.
Almost always using free parking without services, our daily thought was the flushing of the toilet and the loading / unloading of the water. But while for unloading it was almost always possible to use municipal columns, for loading more than once we found ourselves in difficulty due to the lack of water.

    TIMETABLES
We noticed that very often the second cooking shift was not scheduled in French restaurants, especially in the evening, so although there were free places to sit, the "complet" sign was displayed to indicate that the working hours had ended and they would not have welcomed any other customers!
    Correct incorrect?
Surely unpleasant for the tourist who would like to be able to dine at all hours; positive for the worker who does not work "to the bitter end" 😃.
Even the supermarkets are closed on Sundays! (Most)
    Touché

    CALM
Always referring to catering, " calm is the virtue of the strong" 🔝. Calmly and unhurriedly they served and revered us at lunch, what need is there to hurry?

    RED BOW
For a couple of years, the Facebook group "Camperisti FRANCOFONI (those who love to travel in a camper in France)" has been proposing to hang a red bow on the left mirror of the camper to identify oneself on French soil, a way to indicate belonging to the group and exchange friendships.
Well, for the first time we too started with a miserable red string having nothing better. 😅
In fact there has been some meeting and we exchanged a chat with pleasure; however, precisely in times of need, at the Cancale rest area, when it would have been necessary for the "group", having recognized other members, to identify itself and show solidarity towards its "friends", the red ribbon was of no use! They let us wander around in search of a seat, well aware that they had taken up more space than they should. 😐
After, if it is worth "who first arrives, better sits down" then nothing, you were right, who cares about the Facebook group "Camperisti FRANCOFONI (those who love to travel by camper in France)" ... many greetings and (not) friends like before! 😀 😀
